Through the earnest study of...
Through the earnest study of Christian Science, an entirely new life opened up for me. I had not been studying it very long before I had to dispose of my home. Friends and relatives said that no one wanted to purchase this type of home any more, and that there would be no sale for it. I asked a practitioner for help, and in just a few days I saw an advertisement in the daily paper asking for a home such as mine. I replied, and immediately the advertiser and his family saw the home, they said, "This is the very place we have been looking for," and so, much to the amazement of others, the sale was made.
Later I was led to apply to the Christian Science Benevolent Association on Pacific Coast to take the nurses' training course. Living in New Zealand at that time, I was obliged to obtain a special visa from the American consul with regard to entering the United States to take this training. Again, through Christian Science, every obstacle that presented itself melted away, and in due time I found myself in San Francisco.
I shall never cease to be grateful for the priceless experience of serving at the Sanatorium. Recently I became aware of the fact that I had never experienced even a suggestion of homesickness, in fact I have never felt away from my family at all. This to me has been a beautiful healing and proof that Love has led me every step of the way.
