I want to express my gratitude for the understanding...
I want to express my gratitude for the understanding which has come to me that Christian Science meets our every need. When I was a new student, I had a number of physical healings, but, until a son wanted to go to college, I never could understand how divine Love meets all human needs. A college education for the boy seemed a financial impossibility, but his desire to go was so great that we asked a Christian Science practitioner to help us solve the problem. At the time, I did not fully believe that such a demonstration of supply could be made, but I did have consolation in seeking the highest help I knew.
One day soon after this, he came to me and said, "Mother, I feel I just must enroll in the summer term at college." I had grieved a great deal because I did not seem financially able to send him, but as I talked to him at this time, a great light came to me, and I saw that he was, in reality, the child of God, that he had a divine inheritance of his own, and that his heavenly Father would take care of him, for supply had already been created for him, and it did not necessarily need to come through me. And so I let him go, and he left without any means whatsoever.
That afternoon a friend asked him to ride to the college town with him, and on his arrival, another friend joyously invited him to stay with him until such time as he could make his own arrangements. He went to the director of the employment department the next day and told him the situation, and the director said they did not encourage students to come without sufficient funds to pay for their enrollment and other necessities. But my son told him that he had come to college and desired to stay, and wanted him to give him some work.
