It has been my privilege for many years to enjoy the blessings of Christian Science. I was led to accept its teachings over twenty years ago, through the healing of our two-year-old child of severe burns. Her left arm and the entire left side of her body were badly burned when her dress caught fire from a bonfire. We immediately called a physician. After examining her, he shook his head and said that she had inhaled enough of the flames to kill her, and that she would probably pass on in convulsions, which she was then having. Leaving some medicine to give her in case she came out of the convulsions, he then went home. Filled with despair and fear, we called my mother in a near-by town, and she came to us on the next train. She had just received a marvelous healing through the ministration of Christian Science, and so urged us to call for Science treatment. We were ready for anything that might save our little girl, and so telephoned my sister-in-law, an earnest student of Christian Science. She told us to discard all medicine, to read our Bible, and to trust God implicitly. Although fearful, we were entirely obedient to these instructions, and found comfort and strength to carry us through the hours of watchful waiting. Within an hour after Christian Science treatment was begun, the convulsions ceased, and the child dropped into normal sleep. By morning there was great improvement, since all pain was gone, and in six weeks' time she was completely healed. Today she is well and strong, and is herself the mother of a baby girl.

I have seen healings of very severe rheumatism, chicken pox, measles, and mumps through the ministrations of Christian Science; also a healing of eczema, which had covered the entire body of our grandson.

My heart goes out in sincere gratitude to God, with whom I have learned to commune. I am grateful to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and to the sincere practitioners who have kept me strengthened and encouraged and able to press on when I seemed engulfed in darkness. Christian Science is indeed the Comforter.
