Divine Attraction

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE brings the light of Truth to bear upon vague or mistaken concepts of God, and shows Him to be divine Principle, expressed in His idea, spiritual man. Principle is the one attraction which embraces the whole spiritual universe. God's idea, then, is never beyond the influence of His law.

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says (p. 102): "There is but one real attraction, that of Spirit. The pointing of the needle to the pole symbolizes this all-embracing power or the attraction of God, divine Mind." Love is a synonym for God. It is therefore each one's joyous heritage to be continually influenced by Love. As the individual realizes this spiritual fact, he begins to express goodness, purity, understanding, loving-kindness, and other qualities of harmonious being.

God, Life, Truth, Love, forever holds His ideas in unity with Himself. Consciousness of this eternal unity with God constitutes the abundant life of which the Master spoke. The prophet Jeremiah, in consoling the captives of Israel, beautifully expresses God's promise, "The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."
