One Wednesday evening, just one hour before I was to...

One Wednesday evening, just one hour before I was to leave for church, an explosion occurred from the gas stove in our basement kitchen. I was standing within a few inches of the stove, and the flame reached over my right hand, fingers, and arm, and at the same time the terrific sound caused alarm throughout our house. I turned off the gas and ran upstairs to assure my husband that all was well. The practitioner whom I called upon for help was not at home, but I began to work according to the teachings of Christian Science, and started for church to take my place at the organ.

Our First Reader brought to my thought the three Hebrew boys who were not scorched by the fire, as we read in Daniel. I kept on knowing the truth, and felt no resentment toward the cause of the explosion. The power of Love divine and the nearness of Love were manifested. It was recommended to me that I call a practitioner who arrived at church early, and after receiving a brief treatment I took my place at the organ, all the while thanking God for Christian Science as revealed by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. After the second hymn all pain had left, and swellings and discoloration had gone.

My husband said the healing seemed marvelous to him. The day following the incident mentioned, I attended to all my scheduled engagements.
