I have enjoyed the benefits and privileges of Christian Science for many years. I have never known this Science to fail when the applicant was obedient to the rules given to us by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

I am grateful that I received my early training from a deeply religious mother. I also attended an orthodox Sunday school and church for several years. Owing to reverses in the family fortunes, I was forced to help support myself very early. Two years later the firm I was with transferred me to Toronto. After I left home, I gradually lost the habit of attending church, and, like the prodigal son, I wandered away from the Father's house and ate of "the husks." About two years later my firm failed, and I came to Cleveland.

During my school days in Canada I had been interested in all kinds of athletics, but I was finally forced to give up all strenuous activities on account of ill-health.
