I have long wished to express through our periodicals my gratitude to Christian Science for what it has done for me. Like so many others, I investigated this truth for a healing. Although I had been reared in an orthodox church, and had the loving help of a mother who tried her best to give to her children a religious training, there seemed to be a lack of comfort and of an understanding of what the Bibly really was all about. I well remember asking a beloved pastor why it seemed so vague, and I often found myself praying earnestly to get a better understanding of it.

Truly "man's extremity is God's opportunity." The time came when error seemed so rampant that I could go no further. I had become much attached to a friend because she seemed always to have such peace of mind, and I asked her what she had that I did not have. Her reply was, "A slight understanding of Christian Science!" Through her guidance I began studying and also asked a practitioner for treatment, and I was healed of a condition which the physicians said would develop into cancer of the breast. It was not an instantaneous healing, but the condition never gave me any further trouble. This healing occurred many years ago.

I have had many other beautiful healings, and Christian Science has never failed me when properly used. In working out my own salvation along the path from sense to Soul, I have passed through tribulation, but I, too, have learned to pray, "Not my will, but thine, be done."
