During the thirty-three years that I have been interested in Christian Science I have witnessed many healings of myself and others. In almost every case, however, they were quick healings, and not until recently did I realize what it meant to "wait patiently" on the Lord.

I was suddenly stricken with a form of rheumatism which some would call neuritis. We tried at first to work out the problem ourselves, but as I seemed to become worse, we found it necessary to have a Christian Science nurse and a practitioner. Nurses were in our home for fourteen weeks, and the practitioner was on the case for a longer period. There were moments of great discouragement, when I was tempted to think that perhaps this was one time I was not to receive healing. It was pointed out to me that God never fails, and that He was as able to heal in this case as He had in the past.

Words fail to express the gratitude I feel for having been able to have only Christian Scientists around me during this trial. For the patient and faithful practitioner, who never showed discouragement with the case, but always the tenderest love, my heart goes out in deepest gratitude. For the teacher with whom I had class instruction, and for his kindly advice and guidance, I am also very grateful.
