Twenty-five years have passed since I first became interested in Christian Science. I had lost a child at birth; the attending physican had told us that I could not have children. During my convalescence a friend called and told me a little about Christian Science, and I read a lecture on the subject. Christian Science seemed very logical to me. Very soon after this another child was expected, and I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner. A year from the day we had lost the first baby, our daughter was born. Then it was said that we did not owe anything to Christian Science for the happy experience. I knew this was not true, but did not have enough understanding of Truth to deny the error, and three years later there was a repetition of my first experience. From then until now I have taken a firm stand in Christian Science, and later our son was born very harmoniously.

Our children have always relied on Truth for every need. I also was healed of a goiter. I could not begin to tell of all the problems, physical and financial, which have been solved in Christian Science.

Verbally I can never express the gratitude I owe to Mrs. Eddy; I am grateful for the Church Manual she has given us, and for all the church activities; for the patient practitioner who is always ready to help me; and I am especially grateful for the Sunday school. In Science and Health (p. 3) Mrs. Eddy says: "Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks. Action expresses more gratitude than speech."
