Quiet Resting Places

IN quiet resting places, Lord,
I sit and talk with Thee,
And listen to the "still small voice"
Which calms and comforts me.
Within the consciousness of Truth
I pause awhile each day,
And then, refreshed and strengthened,
Pursue my upward way.

In quiet resting places, Lord,
The world shall find her peace
When, underneath Thy guiding hand,
All strife and war shall cease.
Within the consciousness of Life,
Death shadows are unknown,
For Christ hath opened wide the door
And rolled away the stone.

In quiet resting places, Lord,
All men to Thee shall kneel,
And in their tired and weary hearts
Thy gentle presence feel.
Within the consciousness of Love,
Their tears all wiped away,
Upon the hills of righteousness
They shall forever stay.
