A Christian Science period in the "Columbia West Coast Church of the Air" series was conducted from Station KVI, Tacoma, Washington, on Sunday morning, June 19, 1938, at eight o'clock, by Daniel D. Calkins, a former First Reader of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Tacoma. This program was radiocast under the auspices of the Committee on Publication for Washington and had the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors. Arthur Davies, the soloist, was assisted by Ronald Hooper, organist.

The program opened with Hymn No. 64 in the Christian Science Hymnal, after which Mr. Calkins read from the Bible as follows: Acts 26:1, 9–19; Hebrews 4:9, 11–16; Revelation 10:1, 2 (to :), 8–11. And from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: 308:14–15; 333:23–26; 324:19–26; 325:10–19; 559:8–16; 560:10–17; 323:28–6.
