I have received comfort, inspiration, and light, as well as many healings, from reading the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals. In sincere gratitude, therefore, I offer my testimony with the hope that it will help someone.

Christian Science was introduced to me in a western city by my mother, who had been first attracted to it by attending a Christian Science lecture. I called for help in Christian Science for the first time when I had a sore throat, but did so with a great deal of skepticism. Nevertheless, I was healed in one day, losing only one day from business. This was in 1915, and since that time I have never called for a doctor, nor have I used medicine.

Shortly after this experience, my father became ill with a condition diagnosed by a doctor as arteriosclerosis, a so-called incurable disease. Finally he was given but a week to live. He turned to Christian Science and was completely healed of the condition. A year later the doctor who originally had treated him saw him and could hardly believe that it was he.
