Christian Science has brought so many blessings into my life that words are inadequate to express my gratitude.

On the seventeenth day of March, 1928, I walked into a Christian Science Reading Room—not because I wanted Christian Science, far from it, but because I was so ill from the effects of influenza that I could go no farther. As I sat down at one of the desks where the Bible and Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy were placed, I thought, I'll not pick up any of their old books and read them! As I was used to having the Bible as a companion, I read it for two hours—something I had not been able to do for eleven years, due to eye trouble, if I had the slightest cold.

While I was reading, the realization of the nothingness of those glasses and the allness and omnipotence of God came to me so clearly that I knew I should never wear glasses again. From that day until this I have not had on a pair of glasses. My eyesight has been normal.
