I should like to express gratitude for Christian Science...
I should like to express gratitude for Christian Science and for its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, whose consecrated study of the Bible enabled her to give to a waiting world a religion that heals all diseases.
I have had innumerable proofs of God's healing and protective power, but one experience, which stands out from the rest, I relate in the hope that it will give some other mother courage in an hour of trial.
About a year ago my little son became suddenly ill with what would probably have been diagnosed by a medical physician as bronchial pneumonia. He awakened with high fever in the morning, and since I had been able, through my own understanding of Christian Science, to meet many of the children's ills, I did not ask for help from a Christian Science practitioner, but read aloud to him from the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The condition was not improved by noon, so I then asked for help, but due to an extreme condition of fear and a feeling of false responsibility on my part, he did not respond to treatment and became extremely ill.
