A few years ago I found myself in a business situation...
A few years ago I found myself in a business situation which had become very inharmonious, and I earnestly longed to get away from it. But all my efforts to find a new connection were fruitless. The inharmonious conditions grew worse, meantime, until I recognized that the work which I had to do had to be done in that very place. I realized the truth about man. I came to recognize that the tokens of unfriendliness and the meanness which various people seemed to express were not, in reality, a part of them, and that there must be no yielding on my part to mortal mind's claim. I learned to see that there is but one Mind, God, and that we are all His reflection and can express nothing but His qualities.
As I made these thoughts my own, all the personal differences of opinion in which I had been involved vanished, and harmony prevailed among all concerned. What had previously appeared as an insurmountable wall of difficulties in the work was easily conquered. Every thought of leaving the place was given up, and joy and gratitude filled my consciousness.
After a short time there came from an entirely unexpected source an offer which meant my entering a new position at once. The immediate dissolving of the existing contract took place to the satisfaction of both parties, from a personal as well as from a business point of view. Within a few days I was able to begin the new work, which embraced a more interesting activity and a richer field of operation. I was led to a city which I myself never would have sought out, but which held an abundance of good for me in every respect—as soon became evident—and which brought me progress in every direction.
