It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I wish to relate some of my experiences since I have become interested in Christian Science. I also consider it a privilege to be able to testify to the healing and redemptive power of the Christ, and to express thanks to our heavenly Father for the manifold benefits received through a knowledge of Christian Science.
In reviewing the past three years I now realize that I was willing to become interested in this Science due to a sense of insecurity I had been entertaining about life. Early in 1933, the outlook for myself and some of the members of my family appeared to be anything but promising, but as I cast all my care upon God the way was pointed out to me whereby not only I myself, but others also, were benefited. This proved to me that God is "a very present help in trouble," and that divine Love does meet our human needs when we place our sole reliance upon God.
The overcoming of physical complaints through Christian Science is undoubtedly of great benefit to mankind, but the regeneration of one's life gained from a study of it is far more important. While I was reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, the realization of how the truth could so completely eradicate a false sense of evil was a great revelation to me.
I feel unspeakably grateful to our Father-Mother God, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to our Leader for all the blessings received and for the overcoming of faults of character and wrong habits. I am also exceedingly thankful for the loving help I have received from church members and for the literature, the Lesson-Sermons, Reading Rooms, lectures, and testimonies, all of which I have found most helpful. I also greatly appreciate the privilege of membership in The Mother Church. For all these benefits I feel I owe a debt of gratitude to our beloved Leader which I shall never be able to repay.
