Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

The press continues to be friendly and the Committee has always been received with the greatest courtesy, for which he is very grateful.

The Lesson-Sermon excerpts are being printed regularly, which is very gratifying. One improvement in this respect is worthy of notice. The present Committee, who took over the work September 1, 1935, found that one of the newspapers had not published the Lesson-Sermon excerpts for two years because, being an evening paper, it did not consider them news after they had appeared in the morning in other papers. On the suggestion of the Committee that a different excerpt be sent them, this paper also began to print parts of the Lesson-Sermon, showing the headings in large type. This Committee also contemplates printing the excerpts on Saturday, instead of on Monday.

Both Hong Kong and Canton papers draw frequently on The Christian Science Monitor for articles and editorials. It has been very gratifying to hear the favorable comments by editors regarding the high standard of the articles in the Monitor.
