My deep gratitude urges me to delay no longer in acknowledging at least some portion of the great blessing that Christian Science has bestowed upon me. It has lifted me out of the smug self-complacency of material inertia into the higher mental atmosphere of active spiritual thought.

My first direct contact with the healing efficacy of this great Science was in the overcoming of self-pity, fear, and despair resulting from the failure of my business, which involved the loss of large sums of money as well as all material possessions. Christian Science sustained me during the tedious court trial that followed ; and through the kindly and loyal work of a practitioner, Truth prevailed gloriously over all discord and error.

In grateful wonder I commenced the earnest study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and soon determined that Christian Science was the most important thing in life, all other interests becoming relatively unimportant to me. I was enabled to see clearly that I had gained infinitely more than apparently I had lost. In fact, I had lost nothing except the limitation of worldly encumbrances.
