A heart overflowing with gratitude prompts this testimony

A heart overflowing with gratitude prompts this testimony. For several years asthma, bronchitis, and catarrh made me fear the cold and east winds of every approaching winter. No permanent relief was received from doctors' medicine, and, believing the conditions to be hereditary, I thought they would just have to be endured. Our home was by the sea, and in the hope of obtaining some relief from a change to a higher level and drier climate, we moved inland; but no beneficial results followed.

Whilst out walking one day, and feeling very ill, I met a lady whom I had known for some months. Seeing my need, she began to tell me of Christian Science. Although I had heard of it before, when not ready to receive the truth, this time I listened intently and borrowed Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy from her. At my first visit to a Christian Science church, the following texts, displayed on the wall, filled me with hope and assurance: "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free;" (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."

The healing was slow, but I recollect with gratitude the numerous uplifting talks with the kind, patient practitioner whom I asked to help me; and through this healing, my husband and child both became students of Christian Science.
