It is an interesting fact that many people have the mistaken belief that Christian Scientists ignore sin. However, the chief purpose of Christian Science is to take away the sins of the world. It is therefore necessary to recognize sin or error in the human thought for what it is and destroy it through the understanding of the Christ, Truth.
Mary Baker Eddy from the age of twelve years was a member of the Congregational church. In the establishment of the Christian Science church she never relinquished her belief in the one Christ, and Christian Scientists recognize Christ Jesus as their Way-shower.
The continued substantial growth of the Christian Science church and the acceptance of Christian Science by increasing numbers of intelligent people are prophetic of its progress and permanency. It is founded upon the Rock, Christ.
