It is impossible to express in words my gratitude to God, our Father-Mother; to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower; and to Mary Baker Eddy, our revered Leader, for what Christian Science has done for me and mine. I did not take up the study of this Science for any physical healing, but for a better understanding of the Bible. However, my first healing was of severe headaches, which I had had all my life. I wore glasses constantly for twenty years. I learned about this wonderful healing truth through reading the religious articles in our daily newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor, which was lovingly given me by a relative. After reading those articles, also some in the Christian Science Sentinel, I was soon healed of headaches. I took off my glasses, and it has not been necessary to wear them again. This took place about eight years ago. It all seemed so wonderful to me that I was very desirous of knowing more about it, as I had been seeking a better understanding of the Bible and God since I was a small child, but had never been quite satisfied.

This demonstrable truth, when properly applied, has met my every need. Diseases such as whooping cough, measles, mumps, scarlet fever, influenza, severe burns, and infections, also jealousy, resentment, and hatred, have all been quickly overcome, sometimes with the help of a practitioner, and at other times through my own understanding of the truth taught in Christian Science.

The Bible, which I had read since I was a small child, was certainly a closed book until I studied it in connection with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Now I am most grateful to say that it is my privilege and joy daily to study the Bible understandingly. In our family we have proved many times the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 494) that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."
