It is with sincere gratitude that I add my testimony to many others. I have been a student of Christian Science for over twenty-two years. It was presented to me by my husband, after I had explained to him that I must have a church in which to worship God, for I had given up the religion of my parents. For three weeks I had not prayed to God, and I could stand it no longer. It was then that my husband recommended that I read a copy of Science and Health which he owned. I wanted to criticize it, owing to my early religious teaching, but went to this book the second time, desiring to be fair and to give it an honest investigation. I had not even finished the chapter on Prayer when I felt a deep sense of joy and happiness that was unlike anything I had ever experienced; and I have been an earnest student of the book ever since.

My first healing through the study of this book in connection with the Bible was of extreme nervousness. Later, nervous indigestion, from which I had suffered for many years, left me. This came at a time when I went to a practitioner for help for my eyesight, which was failing. I remained with her for one hour, and during this time she gave me an audible treatment. The healing took place immediately, but I did not know it until nine o'clock that night, when action of the bowels took place, although there had not been normal activity for years. For the healing of these two conditions I shall never cease to marvel at the great power and glory of God.

I want to mention some of the many healings that my son and I have experienced through my understanding of Christian Science. They include healings of severe colds, hoarseness, and grippe, from which I was never free in winter; lack of strength; anaemic conditions; underweight; hay fever, with which I was afflicted summer and winter for seven years; and weakening sight and hearing. At one time a testimony given at a Wednesday meeting healed me. Adenoids were overcome for my son through the work of a practitioner. Whooping cough was healed in two treatments in the same manner. I am very grateful also for the lessening of fear. The word "grateful" does not express my real feelings for all that Christian Science is doing and has done for me and for others. I can only show my gratitude to our Leader by living Christian Science.
