I was a professional masseuse, and my first experience in...
I was a professional masseuse, and my first experience in Christian Science was in 1917. A friend who had been told by physicians that he could not be cured of his illness took up Christian Science. Very often I was called to stay overnight with the family, as he could not sleep, and I would read Science and Health to him. While reading, I was healed of the need of wearing eyeglasses. I had worn them since childhood while sewing or reading. From time to time the glasses had to be changed. I had headaches for several days and my thought was, Now I shall have to have these glasses changed. Immediately, the thought came to me, Why don't you try to go without them? From that day I have never worn glasses, as my eyes are normal.
I have had many healings since then, but although I attended church I did not take up the study of Christian Science until approximately five years ago. At that time I had the great privilege of meeting a Christian Science practitioner who was very earnest in her work, and she gave me to understand that I must do my work too. How grateful I am to her for her kind and untiring help!
My nephew was visiting in the East, and while riding his motorcycle, he collided with a street car and was taken to a hospital. The diagnosis was a fractured skull and concussion of the brain. He was in a coma for days. As soon as I was notified I called a practitioner and work was begun. In three weeks he was out of the hospital completely healed.
