Christ Jesus' Healing Method
Christ Jesus healed the sick. What was his method?
How did he perform his mighty works? They were all accomplished through the moral and spiritual power derived from his Father, whom he knew to be infinite Mind, and to whom he referred as the loving heavenly Father. This moral and spiritual power came to him through his purity, his selflessness, and his progressive sense of the real man's perfection as the reflection of God. He saw beyond the evidence of the physical senses, and through this spiritualized consciousness and perception of the real man Jesus healed the sick.
To attain this exalted state is the desire of every genuine Christian Scientist, and the road to this achievement lies in following in the footsteps of the great Master. Much is expected from the adherents of Christian Science. They rejoice in the clear perception of Jesus' teachings which the revelation of their Leader has brought to them, for thereby they are enabled to practice and scientifically demonstrate these teachings. On page 1 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy gives us this instructive and comforting assurance: "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love." It was this "absolute faith," faith carried to "spiritual understanding" of God, coupled with genuine love, compassionate, pure, and selfless, which Jesus possessed.
