In
the heart of everyone, consciously or unconsciously, is desire to be Christlike, the desire to possess and manifest the qualities which distinguished God's representative on earth, the man Christ Jesus.

the fourth chapter of John's Gospel we read, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
When
God calls a group of workers to go forward in church building, the truth underlying the building program affords protection against every attack of evil; and there is great joy to be found in consecration to the Cause that is destined to revolutionize the world and to bring "on earth peace, good will toward men.
Christian Science
teaches us how to prove the truth, taught throughout the Bible, that righteousness is always blessed.
Before
we call He answers,And while we speak He hears;Our faintest supplicationRises to listening ears.
As the critic admits, the author of a recent book evidently does not understand the teaching of Christian Science.
Your contributor, under the heading "Adventures in Religion" in your September 12 number, deprecates the possibility of healing through prayer.
There is encouraging evidence throughout the state that the editors and publishers are holding our Cause in increasingly high respect.
What
a valuable asset is composure, that calm state of consciousness which is the very antithesis of the apprehensive or fearful condition of thought accompanying lack of poise! People differ greatly in this regard, many of them being often ill at ease and restless, while others, as a rule, are self-possessed, calm, at peace.

I was a very unhappy woman when I first heard of Christian Science twenty-two years ago.
When I first became interested in Christian Science I was in a bad condition, both physically and mentally.
Through the encouraging testimonies of healing in the Herold I have received such strength and comfort that I, also, wish to express my deepest gratitude.
