Every day I am more and more grateful for the revelation...
Every day I am more and more grateful for the revelation of Christian Science, and for the continuous blessings it is bringing to me. It is twenty-three years since I first heard of Christian Science from a friend who had been instantaneously healed of insomnia and internal complaints of some years' standing while at a Christian Science lecture. I am glad to say I appreciated the beauty of the Christian Science services from the first one I attended; also the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I borrowed, and the New Testament, which I had never read before, having been brought up in the Jewish faith. Indeed, I felt that I had never heard of or read the truth before; and I was able to help not only myself but others also as the glimpse of Truth lifted me to the mount of revelation. This lasted for a few months, and then I came down into the valley to prove the truth by demonstration. At times the way has been very dark, but I can rejoice now in a clearer understanding of my unity with God and a realization of His presence and power.
A fear of mesmerism and hypnotism, which I first had when taken as a child to see a certain play, has been overcome, as well as anxiety and worry, fatigue and weariness. It is wonderful every day to turn to a loving Father-Mother for guidance and help, and always to receive that help. At one time, while I was doing some church work and thinking over its problems, the words of Jesus came to me as if spoken, with a new revelation of their meaning, "Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come;" and I saw that although animal magnetism, hate, or malice should seek for me, they could not find me, for I abode in the sanctuary of Truth and Love. where they cannot come, I saw "it was to enter unshod the Holy of Holies, where the miracle of grace appears, and where the miracles of Jesus had their birth" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 77).
Words can never express my love and reverence for Mary Baker Eddy, for Christ Jesus, and my gratitude to God.
