I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings I...
I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received through the study and application of Christian Science during the past twenty-three years, during which Christian Science has been my only physician. Although I needed help physically, I was attracted to it at first because it appealed to me as a religion with Bible promises fulfilled. I had always been a Bible student, and had read a chapter from the Bible daily since childhood. I had been in bondage to ill health for over three years, and had been told that I could never hope to be well. A copy of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was given to me and my attention called to the last chapter in the book, named "Fruitage." I was told that I should find that the healings mentioned in the testimonies given therein were all brought about through reading the book. This interested me very much, as I was then living in the country where there were no practitioners and there was no opportunity of attending church services and lectures. I became an earnest student, and from the first began to experience the healing effects of Truth. Before two years had passed I had been healed of kidney trouble, dyspepsia, nervous headaches and extreme nervousness, fear of insanity, and many other disorders. During this time I learned to study the Bible Lessons given in the Christian Science Quarterly and found that the textbook was indeed a "key" to the Scriptures.
As each year passes I am increasingly grateful to God and to our dear Leader, who has given the truth to this age in a practical, demonstrable religion, which has brought comfort and peace to countless thousands. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church; for the many activities of church membership, and for class instruction.
