About nine years ago my attention was drawn to Christian Science by my sister who lives in Holland. Being a seeker after the truth and unsatisfied with the Evangelical church I had previously turned to other teachings, in which, however, I had found no satisfaction. After investigating Christian Science for a short while I knew that I had found the truth for which I had so long sought.

After some time I was transferred as a teacher from my home town, a beautiful suburb of Hamburg, to a small town. I did not like the place, neither did I care for the people. Through fear and other false thinking I suffered a complete nervous breakdown, accompanied by heart trouble and weakness.

Thanks to the indefatigable and loving help of a Christian Science practitioner I was healed, and after three months was able to resume my work. I had now learned to purify my consciousness of unwholesome and wrong thinking, and I recognized more and more that good is the only power.
