My heart is overflowing with gratitude for all the blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science. I know that if we are obedient to the laws of God, good, strength is given us each day to accomplish our duty. Recently, when a dear one passed on, I felt the presence of this divine protection, which sustained me; and my strength has been proportionate to my trust in God.

I should like to relate an experience in which I had proof of God's ever present protection. I was busy with a mangle for linen when my finger was caught in a towel which was drawn into the mangle. Immediately I tried to realize the presence of God, who is Life, and who does not know of accidents. The hand was drawn between the rollers, and the pain became so intense that I lost consciousness. At that moment a young man entered my kitchen, who, seeing what had happened, shut off the electric current and stopped the machine. This took place more quickly than I can tell it. When I regained consciousness we saw the hand; it was only bruised, because the machine was stopped just before greater injury could be done. My joy was very great; for divine Love had come to the rescue. The next day I could use my hand, and except for a little stiffness in the fingers I felt no pain.

I am deeply grateful to God, who is always able to help us when we call on Him. I am also grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who has given us Christian Science; to all the friends who have helped me; and to all those who are working to establish the reign of heaven on earth.
