I am very grateful for the many benefits which Christian Science has brought to me. Since coming into this religion I have been healed of colds, coughs, a dislocated shoulder, a dislocated neck, fallen arches, and also of a stoppage of the bowels.

About two years ago, when I was staying with a friend, I had a severe attack of constipation, a condition I had suffered from all my life. The last time this condition had claimed me it lasted eighteen days and caused me great pain; sometimes I had to remained in bed. This time I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, which was lovingly and patiently given. Soon after the work was taken up the pain left me, though the condition did not yield.

My family greatly desired that I should return home. I resented this, because I felt I must be near the one who was helping me. One day I was reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, when I came across the passage (p. 225), "Love is the liberator." As I pondered this passage, it came clearly to me that to obtain my healing I must express love and affection towards my home people.
