Christian Science has been my only physician for over...

Christian Science has been my only physician for over twenty years. I am grateful for many physical healings, some of which have been instantaneous. In other cases I found that the truth as taught in Christian Science, when properly and persistently applied, always brought the desired results.

The first noticeable healing I had was an instantaneous healing of rheumatism. For several weeks the swelling and pain had been growing steadily worse. I went to a practitioner and was given one treatment; then I left the practitioner's office and started home. In less than twenty minutes every bit of pain and swelling had disappeared, and there has never been a return of the trouble.

For a number of years I had a long struggle to overcome a feeling of loneliness during the holiday season. Brought up in surroundings where there were many relatives, friends, and the so-called material things that go to make up the holiday season, when these were no longer a part of my experience I found I was left with a very strong belief that the success or failure of the holiday season depended on person, place, and thing. While studying and applying what Christian Science teaches, I gained the true concept of happiness. I found that happiness is a spiritual quality; that it comes from God; that there is an abundance of it, and that all may partake of it. This healed me of the unhappy lonely feeling, not only during the holidays but at other times too. It was well worth what seemed a long struggle, for the true concept I gained of joy and happiness brought peace and contentment that far surpassed any I had experienced while believing that person, place, and thing were the source of happiness.
