It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I give this testimony to the healing power of Christian Science. After two years of intense pain, suffering, and helplessness from what were termed "tubercular glands," three doctors and two specialists told me that they could give me no further relief and that I could not live very long. The last surgeon said I might try Christian Science, of which I knew little.

I told my next-door neighbor, a Christian Science practitioner, the doctor's verdict, and she said, "Error dies; good lives." Then she explained to me what God is. I soon saw that I did live, move, and have my being in God, good. She immediately took such a firm stand for Truth that the difficulty was met that same evening in one absent treatment. She very kindly lent me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which, together with the Bible, I read all the evening. The next morning I was completely healed, the eruption had disappeared, all swelling had gone, and I was in perfect health. I was able to dress myself, comb my hair, and do all my housework alone, something I had not done for two years. My other neighbors were very much astonished at my quick healing; and, later, four of them took up the study of Christian Science as a result of this healing. Since then I have had many other permanent healings, of burns, sprains, colds, influenza, and a badly injured hand. Christian Science is an assurance for the future as well as for the present, and the truth it reveals is always immediately available.

I am indeed grateful for all the avenues through which our blessings come to us in Christian Science; for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch society; especially for class instruction by a loyal teacher; also for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school. I am striving to be worthy of the name "Christian Scientist," and hope to demonstrate the words our beloved Leader gives us in our textbook (p. 3), "Action expresses more gratitude than speech."—(Mrs.) Esa Atha, Fontana, California.
