Unchanging Man

MANY sincere Christian people who are students of the Bible and profess to follow the teachings of Christ Jesus will readily agree with the statement that God is unchanging, and that the flight of years or the acts of men can never alter in the slightest degree the invariableness of the Almighty; but when asked if man is unchanging, they will emphatically declare that man is subject to constant change, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse conditions. They stoutly maintain that for man many changes are inevitable, brought about by adverse conditions and so-called laws over which he has no control, and against which he does not know how to make an effective defense.

Thanks to Christian Science, mankind is now in possession of a clearer spiritual understanding of the Scriptures, and the eternal fact that man is unchanging, because he is a perfect image or reflection of the unchanging God, is becoming better understood.

In the first chapter of Genesis is recorded the following fundamental truth relative to God and man: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." Christian Science, in perfect harmony with the Bible, reveals God as the invariable, immutable, immortal, infinite, divine Mind, and man as the perfect, eternal, unchanging expression or manifestation of this one and only Mind.
