The healing work of Christian Science is not by any...
Advertiser
The healing work of Christian Science is not by any means confined to nervous disorders, but includes numerous cases of so-called incurable organic disease as well as functional. Most of these cases had previously been given up by the medical faculty as hopeless, and Christian Science had been tried only as a last resort. Christian Scientists do not claim, at this juncture, the ability to heal every case that comes to them, since they have not yet attained to the full understanding of this Science. The healing already accomplished, however, affords abundant proof that Christian Science is demonstrable, and that it requires only a fuller knowledge of and a closer approximation to that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus" in order to heal every case scientifically. From your correspondent's point of view it may appear that medical or surgical treatment is the only remedy for certain cases of disease, but the question is here pertinent, Does medical science really offer a positive cure for all disease? The facts to-day prove conclusively that it does not.
One need only ask any of those people who were pronounced incurable by the medical profession, and were restored by Christian Science to further years of health and usefulness, whether they would prefer in future to trust themselves to Christian Science or to drugs, and the answer must surely be obvious. Mrs. Eddy herself was instrumental in healing many such cases; her writings have been the means of healing many thousands more.
