It is with a sense of gratitude I give my testimony in the hope that it may help someone else to gain an understanding of the truth which makes men free. When I first took up the study of Christian Science in 1915, for insomnia, a friend lent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. At that time I seemed unable to understand the book, so I went to a sanitarium, where I remained for about five months but received no benefit. I then met a Christian Science practitioner with whom I was well acquainted, and told him my troubles. I was indeed most miserable and had grown very despondent, had lost all interest in life and thought to do away with myself. The practitioner advised me to get Science and Health, read it, go to church, and I would get my healing. I was obedient, and my healing came, slowly but surely, thus giving me time to study and learn more of the beautiful truth about God and man's relationship to Him.
Since the above healing I have been healed of stomach trouble, fallen arches, rheumatism, chilblains, influenza, neuritis, colds, sprained ankle, and many other ailments. For all these blessings I give God the glory. I am particularly grateful for the spiritual understanding that comes to one from the study of the Bible and the Christian Science literature.—Theodore Mueller, Oakland, California.
I wish to add my testimony of gratitude for all that the study and application of Christian Science have brought into my life in the past few years. In 1913, I was healed instantaneously of organic trouble after undergoing two operations. The physician told me that it would be necessary to perform a third operation, since I ahd grown steadily worse instead of better. I took my stand and replied that I would never go to a hospital again.
