Divine Love led me to Christian Science. I am deeply grateful that I was thus blessed. Words are inadequate to tell of all that I have received from Christian Science. The first time I attended a branch church I knew at once that I had found what I had always been looking for. It was indeed wonderful to me; and the testimonies made such an impression that it became my earnest desire to go to the meetings again and again. It became clear to me that the Bible, the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the Christian Science Quarterly belong together; and my great desire was to possess the textbook, so that I might learn more of the truth. I was penniless and in a state of dejection owing to mental distress. But all at once it was as though all this were swept away, and I thought only on the beautiful and good things I had heard from the desk. An aunt whom I rarely saw mentioned on one occasion that she had a religious book; and it proved to be the Christian Science textbook. She had carefully packed it away in a cupboard because she no longer read it. She lent me this precious volume, and I took it with me on a journey. This journey was the pleasantest I had ever had. When I returned, my aunt asked me to give her back the book at once, because something appeared to be lacking when it was not in the house; so I returned it to her.

At first I thought I could not afford to buy the textbook; but, behold, I was able to do so. By simply reading the textbook I was healed of constipation from which I had suffered since childhood. This was an instantaneous healing for which I am endlessly grateful.

I attended the Wednesday evening testimony meetings regularly, and in listening to a testimony about the healing of an ear complaint I was instantaneously healed. For nearly three years I had been under continual treatment by specialists for ear complaints. When Christian Science came into my life I found the great Physician, who delivers from all evil. My happiness increased continually, because better and better I recognized my true spiritual selfhood, and that man, as the true reflection of God, is perfect. My healings have been permanent. I can hear well, and have taken up cycling again, which I had given up because I feared I should not hear the automobile horns.
