The Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

Eenheid

The Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is not a Bible, but, as the title indicates, a "key" to the understanding of the Bible. As the first tenet of Christian Science, one finds on page 497: "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life."

The riches which accrued to Mrs. Eddy helped her to establish the vast organization of The Mother Church with its many activities. Personally she led a very simple life. The Christian Science practitioner is not "obliged" to accept money for his services, and he is content with a small fee or will give gratis treatment when the patient's circumstances seem to demand it.

In The Christian Science Monitor there appears daily on The Home Forum page a special Christian Science article; and The Christian Science Journal, a monthly, and the Christian Science Sentinel, a weekly, contain many inspired articles. As, however, the language in which they are printed is English, people in Holland have to be content chiefly with translations. It so happened, however, that Eenheid recently reprinted an article of Dutch origin, entitled "Economic Problems."
