It is with a grateful heart I express my thanks for many blessings and healings that have come to me through Christian Science.

Some years ago when I was an adherent of a certain church, there came a period when its teachings of the Bible could not satisfy me. I became disturbed at my inability to pray, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." I sought explanations of this passage, but none came to me. I withdrew from all religious association, abandoned the form of worship of God I had been educated in, and waited a while. Then I prayed God to give me light, understanding also that I might know the light I was seeking, the truth about God and His creation, myself included. This continued to be my only prayer for nearly fifteen years. Then came a time when, after physicians had abandoned me as a hopeless case of septic tuberculosis, I was healed through Christian Science; and let me here declare my gratitude to the loving practitioners who helped me. I was roused fully to learn what I could of Christian Science, and became a regular attendant at church services and lectures. My attention was later arrested by Mary Baker Eddy's spiritual interpretation of the Lord's Prayer (see Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, pp. 16, 17), and in time I came to see that here was what would satisfy me. And it surely has, for without reservation I pray it and am understanding its import to me and to all mankind.

I am also understanding the truth uttered by and recorded of our beloved Way-shower, Christ Jesus. The Bible is no longer a closed, mysterious book, but with the aid of Science and Health is being explained to me; and thus my prayer is answered. I am also learning to know that the child of God is in truth His image and likeness, and not a miserable sinner; and I do thank God, our Father-Mother. I hope to prove myself grateful for Mrs. Eddy's selfless love and patient following in the way of Christ Jesus.
