It is with deepest gratitude that I give this testimony of the perfect healing of a broken bone through the application of Christian Science alone, thus proving that mental surgery is an established fact.

Two days before a certain Christmas, while engaged in cleaning house, I fell backward from the top of the kitchen table and was thrown on my back with full force, my right hand and wrist coming in contact with the iron leg of the gas range. The result was a fracture of the wrist bone and a very painful injury to the back of the hand. The wrist was examined by a surgeon and the injury pronounced a fracture, but the bone was not set. At no time was it bandaged or even wrapped up: it was left entirely with God, and the result was a complete and permanent healing, no trace whatever of the injury being left.

Resentment had thrown me down, but it could not keep me down. Though stunned for a moment, I began declaring the truth, as taught in Christian Science, that I was God's child and could not be hurt any more than God could be hurt. I worked mentally as best I could under a sense of intense pain, and within fifteen minutes I was able to continue the work I was engaged in, washing eight windows outside and inside, dusting and moving furniture into place, using the left hand entirely and allowing the right arm to remain at my side. The severe pain of which I seemed to be conscious at first, gradually diminished, and I did not call a practitioner until toward evening. That night I retired fully dressed, with the exception of my shoes, as I found it impossible to get my clothes off, and there was no one to assist me.
