As the mother of two small children I cannot seem to begin...
As the mother of two small children I cannot seem to begin to express the gratitude I feel for Christian Science. While I have been a student of Christian Science since childhood, yet it was not until I had the problems of a home to solve that I really began to appreciate the joy of being a Christian Scientist. The wonderful privilege of class instruction has enabled me to undertake the handling of the children's problems with confidence, knowing that it is not I, but God, who does the work. It is such a comfort to know that the generally accepted belief that children must go through certain diseases at intervals is not true. Christian Science work along the line of knowing that God's idea is spiritual and subject to His law, that there are no so-called material laws with power to affect or govern man, has freed me from a sense of fear when symptoms of disease were manifested. Peace and harmony take the place of quarrelsomeness and irritation as the law of Love is mentally applied. We have had whooping cough, measles, colds, burns, cuts, skin eruptions, and many unnamed discordant conditions healed through Christian Science treatment. Two surgical healings, one instantaneous, the other after a few days, took place after the birth of my children, through the understanding of Christian Science alone.
For the spiritual growth following the overcoming of physical discords, and the help derived from the daily study of Mrs. Eddy's writings and the Lesson-Sermons, as given in the Christian Science Quarterly, I am very grateful. How grateful we all are to Mrs. Eddy for her unselfish devotion to God's call!
