I am sincerely grateful for all that Christian Science has done for me, for mine, and for mankind We have had many wonderful proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science healing and of God's omnipotence and omnipresence. I was healed in less than three days of a severe attack of pleurisy. I have been healed instantly of colds when the truth was properly applied. At other times similar conditions have been more difficult to meet, due to fear and inefficiency in my metaphysical work, or to my failure to "stand porter at the door of thought" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 392). But the truth has always healed when properly applied.
We have had two boys born while we have been students of Christian Science, and have had many wonderful demonstrations of healing with them in the destruction of colds, croup, and other troubles common to children. Before we had turned definitely to Christian Science, my wife had a growth which a medical specialist asserted could not be removed except by an operation, advising that it be done immediately; but we decided to try Christian Science first, and work was taken up by a loving practitioner. In three weeks the growth, which was of a very hard nature, had dissolved and entirely disappeared. This convinced us that Christian Science is the same truth that Jesus demonstrated nineteen hundred years ago, because it does heal.
I am grateful to know that Christian Science will heal a sick business as surely as it will heal a sick body, and that we can use it daily in our businesses. As Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." What wonderful assurance this gives us!
