Shortly after starting to go to school I suffered from scarlet...

Shortly after starting to go to school I suffered from scarlet fever, which left me with ear, throat, and kidney difficulty. For two years I never went to school a full two weeks at a time without being out with these troubles. Later I suffered from mastoid difficulty. The physician said he could do nothing, and I would have to be operated on for this condition. My mother had heard of some healings by Christian Science, and decided to try it. She heard of a practitioner in our town, so she asked her to work for me. After she began her work I soon fell asleep. After sleeping for about half an hour I was awakened by my aunt, who did not know I had been ill. I was so delighted she had come that I got down and played with the baby. I had forgotten all about my trouble until my grandmother exclaimed aloud, to think I was playing so soon. Then I felt my ears, to find the pain gone.

I have gone to school regularly since, and for two years have not missed a day there. We have had many other wonderful healings in the family, for which we are very grateful. I go to the Christian Science Sunday School, and am very grateful for the opportunity. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy, to my teachers, and to the practitioner for showing me the wonderful truth about God.
