[Original testimony in German]
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden...
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." These words were given to us by the "good shepherd." I too was heavy-laden, and with a heart full of gratitude I wish to testify to my healing through the Christ, Truth.
In December, 1922, I was taken seriously ill with the grippe, which turned to pleurisy. At that time I knew nothing of Christian Science and was under medical treatment. After three months had passed, I seemed to be completely healed. But this healing did not prove to be permanent. A short time afterwards I was afflicted with a heart complaint which caused me a great deal of trouble. In the meantime I had heard of Christian Science, and now had to choose between this teaching and medical treatment. I still hoped to be helped by matter, and consulted a physician. In spite of his earnest efforts my condition did not improve; and the longer this condition lasted, the more depressed and discouraged I became, and more and more I had a sense that it was the divine decree which inflicted the sickness upon me, and it was therefore my duty to bear it patiently.
All the same I longed to be delivered from such misery; so I decided to give up the physician and have Christian Science treatment. This was lovingly and patiently given, and I learned to correct my thinking. The more I became receptive to Truth, the more my condition improved. Two months later all the trouble had disappeared, and I was able to do some light work. Truth had healed my darkened mind as well as my body; so that to-day I can accomplish more than ever before. This was my first experience of the healing power of Truth, as revealed and demonstrated by Christ Jesus.
