The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

New Braunfels, Texas (Society).

Lecturer: William D. Kilpatrick; introduced by Mrs. Frieda Loep, who said:—

As perhaps most of you know, Christian Science is a religion of works; and anyone who is acquainted with its teachings can testify to this. Those of you who are familiar with the Bible will recall these words of Jesus: "These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; . . . if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." In our family we have had many opportunities to test and prove the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I myself have been healed of headaches and liver trouble through the study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. My husband has been healed of the cigarette smoking habit and of the effects of poison oak. For our children we have experienced healings of measles, colds, mumps, chicken pox, pneumonia, and many other ills.
