Several years ago I was taken suddenly ill with the grippe and was in bed eight weeks. When I was allowed to get up I was very weak, and remained so for a long time. If I tried to work, I soon felt trouble in my head, stomach, or nerves; and half the time I was obliged to be in bed. If I tried to walk, I was obliged to use crutches or hold on to the walls. I took all the advice that was given me, but without avail. The doctors always told me I must have patience; and thus three years passed.

Then some relatives called my attention to Christian Science. Although I had never heard anything about it before, I decided to write to the practitioner of whom my relatives had spoken. Their son had been healed of grippe through her loving help. The practitioner gave me absent treatment and explained the great divine truths to me in a letter. Even at the time of reading the letter I felt a new sense of strength and health. In a few weeks all the complaints and the weakness had disappeared, and since that time I have enjoyed wonderful health.

I am sincerely grateful for the understanding of this great truth—grateful to God, who is my Life, grateful to Mrs. Eddy, through whom we found this beautiful teaching, and grateful to the loving practitioner, who through her explanations enabled me to gain such an understanding that I am able to overcome many seeming difficulties myself. I understand now that God is all Life and all Love.
