[Written for the Sentinel]

I Love All Good

I love all good!
It makes me see
That wrongs which seem to be
Are but illusive mist.
That gift from God,
The power to know—
What wondrous beauties it unfolds!
New scenes it brings, effacing all the old.

I love all good!
Complaint against my neighbor
Thus has ceased.
His baggage of belief, too, is unreal;
And happily my thought does rest
On the real man, heaven-blest.
I see this man of God's creating now,
And no chimera of another mind
Can wrest from me this thought divine:
I love all good!
