[Original testimony in French]

I have received and am still deriving so much comfort as the result of reading the testimonies in Le Héraut that I wish to give my own to help others as I have been helped.
Before knowing of Christian Science I had assumed the rôle of an individual anarchist. I called myself an unbeliever, but always had respect for the life of Christ Jesus. After reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, I understood that what I had called the First Cause was God, the source of all good. I was delivered from rheumatism for which I had taken vapor and sun baths, and had followed a vegetable and fruit diet. I called myself an unbeliever, but I was only a false believer; for I believed all sickness and all evil to be real. From the beginning of my study of this beautiful Science, the power of the healing by Truth, as taught in Christian Science, was proved to me by a very much healthier body.
I resumed the habit of praying, which I had abandoned for a long time; and through prayer I was healed instantaneously of pain in the heel of my left foot, caused by a shock received while running barefoot on a rock. I had stopped smoking, but the desire to smoke returned when I saw others smoking; so much so, that one day I yielded when a comrade offered me a cigarette; but the effect was the same, and as disagreeable as at the time of my first cigarette. I used to be disgusted with smokers. Since then, I am no longer disgusted with smokers, but with tobacco and its odor. I have lost all desire to smoke.
