[Original testimony in German]

I feel impelled to express my deepest gratitude to divine...

I feel impelled to express my deepest gratitude to divine Love for the many wonderful experiences which I have had in Christian Science.

According to the diagnosis of an eminent physician, I was suffering from two floating kidneys. This was said to be so unusual that none of the physicians I had previously consulted had ever had such a case. It was too late for me to undergo an operation. I suffered a great deal until I became acquainted with Christian Science through a dear friend, whose wonderful healing of dropsy I witnessed; and in Christian Science I found that for which I had been seeking. I had always been searching for God, and was very skeptical in regard to a punishing and condemning God, who, as it was believed, tolerated a hell, and who often led innocent people into temptation by afflicting them with serious illnesses, griefs, and sorrows.

It was not until I became acquainted with Christian Science that I learned to recognize our Father-Mother God as omnipotent Love; and this knowledge of God enabled me to understand the wonderful truth that we, as the children of God, do not need to live in fear and anxiety, and that in reality there is no suffering, because man has his life in Spirit, not in matter. Five years have passed since I became acquainted with Christian Science; and through the loving work of a practitioner and my own increasing understanding, I have been completely healed of my complaint. I have also been healed of constipation, from which I suffered for years. In many other cases I have had wonderful experiences, so that at the age of sixty I am capable of accomplishing a great deal more than in earlier years.
