Having depended entirely on God for help and healing...
Having depended entirely on God for help and healing for nearly ten years, through the teachings of Christian Science, I feel that I should acknowledge the good that has been received. When I first began to understand Christian Science, as taught by Mrs. Eddy, I thought it was indeed wonderful. But for about the first six years of the study of this Science I was "asleep in the cradle of infancy, dreaming away the hours," as Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 95). It is only since passing through the Red Sea of human beliefs and fears on dry ground, not once but many times, with the loving help of a Christian Science practitioner, that I am beginning to realize the magnitude and grandeur of this teaching.
How pure and spiritually-minded that dear woman, Mary Baker Eddy, must have been to be trusted to give out such a wonderful revelation to a whole world in need of redemption! Christian Science has always met every problem—physical, financial, moral—to which we have applied its teachings honestly and consistently.
Our two small children, aged seven years and seventeen months, respectively, do not know any other remedy but God's truth. In fact, they have been kept wonderfully free from so-called children's diseases through the applied knowledge of Christian Science. I myself have been healed of headaches, which I might say I had continuously before I studied Christian Science. Attacks of biliousness, which appeared often and regularly, are a thing of the past. A quick temper has been replaced with more sincere and true love; indeed, I have to a great degree become "a new creature: old things," as Paul wrote to the Corinthians, "are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
