Among the Churches
Current Notes
Cleveland Heights, Ohio (First Church).—First Church of Christ, Scientist, Cleveland Heights, has completed the details of its organization, and, in accordance with the requirements of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, the application of this church for recognition as a branch of The Mother Church has been approved by The Christian Science Board of Directors. A state charter has been granted, and the new organization is holding services as an authorized Christian Science church in the Masonic Temple, corner of Lee and Mayfield Roads. All charter members of the new church are members of The Mother Church in Boston, and were formerly members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Cleveland, Ohio.—The News.
Salem, Oregon (First Church).—The new Christian Science church has now been formally opened. It has incorporated into it the old building, which was the first Christian Science church to be dedicated in Oregon. The old church building, which stood almost directly across Chemeketa Street from the site of the new building, was dedicated in 1903. While being built into the new structure, the old church was remodeled and generally improved. It will be used for the Sunday school and as a room for business meetings. It has been in actual use as a church room since July, 1924, in its present location. The most modern and up-to-date equipment has been installed throughout the building.
